Hmm…. well, I’m really pleased with my new blue passport upgrade which entitles me to so much more limited movement.
It’s indescribably SO much better than when I could just come and go as I pleased within the EU.
And the bonus was that many NHS workers and lorry drivers had to leave the country, which solved the real staff surplus problem in the NHS – particularly of nurses and careworkers.
And of course, there were so many HGV drivers that they were queueing up in Kent.
So, this is precisely the sort of win-win-win situation that the government was hoping for, presumably.
But the success really worth celebrating is, of course, that the EU can no longer dictate the bendiness of bananas.
I don’t think I’m alone when I say that the sheer audacity of EU food classification was causing me sleepless nights.
Fortunately, we can all now benefit from the reduced EU bureaucracy and the completely frictionless import and export paperwork that Brexit has achieved. I, for one, was delighted when my recent European purchase was held up at customs until I paid the VAT and duty.
And obviously, this sort of additional outlay really helps with the cost of living crisis, too.
Anyway, I think we can agree that all of our lives are so much better now that we can decide for ourselves how bendy our bananas should be – it really is the epitome of sovereignty.
